In general I am not a fan of pop culture mashups, but I am not made of stone.
I think I’m going to put this frog post on my resume.
New labels for Anicca are on bottles for you this Friday. Doing that dragon entirely in Illustrator was a lot of work. And any time I do something with metallic effects I’ll always say “oh but this looks so much better with the metallic effects” but this one is like a totally different thing when you see it with the metallic.
Also, there’s a naked lady.
Also, the beer is really good.
Anyone who knows Half Acre knows that Ween is our official band. But our Backup Official Band That is Actually Still a Band would probably be The Growlers.
And that’s how I ended up making this odd poster for their show tonight at Lincoln Hall.
I’ve drawn a lot of hops in the last few years, but this is the first time I did so from direct observation.
A small mammoth with unreasonably ambitious trunk/tusks.
The mammoth population on Saint Paul Island, Alaska survived until around 8000 years ago. Within the span of recorded human history. But no one was recording human (or other) history on a small island off Alaska.
That has been your Actual Mammoth Fact for today.
This is a Hop Dragon rendered at 100% scale. I painted most of it while I was sitting in an obscure corner with some of my beer drawings of the Beverly Arts Center a couple Saturdays ago. Eventually people got drunk enough to buy things, so it was ok.
Welp, this frog is officially the most successful Tumblr post I’ve ever made. 1500+ notes and counting.
That said, could someone at least go click a heart on the Lager Town labels I made?
Where is my mind.
Everybody stop we need to talk about this frog.
